세이카도의 니시키에 컬렉션에서 초기 우키요에부터 니시키에 시대, 에도 막부 말기와 메이지 시대까지 배우 그림의 역사를 추적합니다. 우키요에 작가 중 가장 많은 배우 그림을 그린 구니사다(國貞), 그의 제자이자 메이지 샤라쿠(写楽)로 칭송받던 구니치카(國周)의 니시키에 첩(錦絵帖)도 최초로 공개합니다. 니시키에 그림의 아름다움을 만끽해 보십시오.

와카(和歌)를 쓴 고필, 겐지 모노가타리, 헤이지 모노가타리를 주제로 한 그림과 공예품 등 헤이안 문학을 테마로 일본 미술을 감상하실 수 있습니다. 국보 ‘왜한랑영초(倭漢朗詠抄) 오타기레(太田切)’, 국보 다와라야 소타츠 ‘겐지 모노가타리 세키야 미오츠쿠시 그림 병풍’ 등 명품을 통해 헤이안 문학을 즐겨보시기 바랍니다.

한때 세타가야 오카모토에서 인기를 끌었던 ‘초・일본도 입문’이 돌아왔습니다! 도쿄 마루노우치에서 열리는 첫 번째 도검전인 이번 전시에서는 박물관 소장 국보・중요문화재 9자루와 가마쿠라 시대를 중심으로 한 고명도(古名刀)를 중심으로 ‘가타나(검)를 보는 법’을 소개합니다.

화가 가와나베 교사이(河鍋暁斎)와 홋카이도의 명명자이자 탐험가, 호고가, 저술가인 마츠우라 다케시로(松浦武四郎)는 에도 막부 말기와 메이지 시대에 활약한 다재다능한 인물입니다. ‘다케시로 열반도’와 그곳에 그려진 다케시로가 수집한 고물(문화재)을 함께 전시하여, 그들의 옛것에 대한 열정을 되새겨봅니다.
